I love you!
“There is nothing that will make me stop loving you. Nothing you could do, say, or think will ever change that.”
If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing. … 1 Corinthians 13.
You are amazing!
“I look at you with wonder! Not just at what you can do, but who you are. There is no one like you. No one!”
Lord, there is no one like you! For you are great, and your name is full of power. Jeremiah 10:6
It’s all right to cry
“People cry for all kinds of reasons: when they are hurt, sad, glad, or worried; when they are angry, afraid, or lonely. Big people cry too. I do.”
While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God. Hebrews 5:7.
You’ve made a mistake.
“That was wrong. People make mistakes. I do. Is it something we can fix? What can we do? It’s all over. You can start fresh. I know you are sorry. I forgive you.”
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Romans 3:23
You did the right thing.
“That was scary or hard. Even though it wasn’t easy, you did it. I am proud of you; you should be too.”
And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone. 2 Peter 1:4-7
I’m sorry.
“Forgive me. I made a mistake.”
Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive. Luke 17:4
You can change your mind.
“It’s good to decide, but it is also fine to change your mind in order to make the right decision.”
He will give justice to the poor and make fair decisions for the exploited. The earth will shake at the force of his word, and one breath from his mouth will destroy the wicked. Isaiah 11:4
What a great idea!
“You were really thinking! How did you come up with that? Tell me more. Your mind is clever!”
Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 18:3
That was kind.
“You did something helpful and thoughtful for that person. That must make you feel good inside.
Thank you!”
The lips of the godly speak helpful words, but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse words. Proverbs 10:32
I have a surprise for you.
“It’s not your birthday. It’s for no reason at all. Just a surprise, a little one, but a surprise.”
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 1 Peter 4:10
